Peter Durieux is born in 1979. He’s working as an ict proffesional, living in Belgium. He started playing drums around an age of 5. During the years he had some great drum teachers. Peter followed drum lessons at “Stedelijke muziek conservatorium” in Bruges. For years Kris Vanzieleghem was his drum teacher. Afterwards he became a great friend.

Around the age of 18, Peter had to choose which kind of study he should do. He was dreaming about a proffesional drummercarreer. But due to various reasons, he chose the path of ict. Making a living as a musician is great but you need to be mobile. Taking a drum kit with public transport isn’t an option.

During his studies, Peter lived in Leuven on a student house. There was no room to have a drum kit there. So, practicing wasn’t possible. Going to lessons is useless if you can’t practice. Sadly Peter quit drumming around his 22th.

Years later, Peter decided to start playing again. At the end of 2014 he bought a Roland td-15kv. The quality, playabilty and pricing of those ekits were drasticly improved. Amazing!

Peter discovered a lot of great resources online and became a member of Drumeo and Thomas Langs drumuniverse. In 2016 Peter participated in a bootcamp of Thomas here in Belgium. He met some wonderfull people and made some great friends.

Peters parents are both musicians and from a young age, he was the drummer of his mothers band. He did play with a lot of people on stage, even without knowing each other.
